Melita Dvorak-Ewell joined Sonoma in 2020, with 13 years of experience in small molecule, biologics and gene therapy drug development, from discovery to commercialization.
As a Project Team Lead, Dvorak-Ewell managed global cross-functional program teams at Audentes, Ultragenyx and BioMarin, leading to three globally-approved products, and four molecules currently in late-stage clinical trials. Earlier in her career, Dvorak-Ewell was a Senior Research Scientist, serving as a lead for early-stage programs and heading up the in vitro cell models functional group.
Dvorak-Ewell earned a Ph.D. in Molecular Physiology from Manchester University, UK. She completed post-doctoral fellowships at University of California, San Francisco and Cardiff University, UK.
